List-making
is
a
common
practice.
It’s
not
just
for
older
people,
but
for
anyone
who
has
important
things
they
need
to
do
but
are
afraid
they
might
forget
them.
Some
believe
that
if
they
make
a
list,
they
won’t
forget
what
they
need
to
do
and
will
follow
through.
Crossing
finished
items
off
a
list
gives
them a feeling of accomplishment.
Unfortunately,
some
don’t
cross
many
items
off
their
list
because
they
either
procrastinate
or
resist
being
compelled
to
do
tasks
they
don’t
want
to
do.
Some
just
forget,
either
because
they
have
too
many
things
to
remember,
or
because
they
just
don’t
want
to
do
what
they
need
to
do.
For
these
people, lists can be disheartening.
The
Christian
has
serious
responsibilities
that
God
requires
him
to
fulfil.
Paul
tells
his
Corinthian
readers
that
they
need
to
examine
themselves
to
see
if
they
are
in
the
faith
(II
Cor.
13:5).
In
order
to
fulfill
this
command,
Christians
need
to
have
a
list
(at
least
a
mental
one)
of
their
responsibilities
to
aid
them
in
the task of self-examination.
For
those
who
use
lists
successfully,
we
have
provided
a
spiritual
checklist
on
this
website.
Take
an
honest
look
to
see
where
you
are
in
regard
to
each
of
the
items
on
the
list.
If
you
are
not
able
to
check
a
box
in
front
of
a
category,
that
is
an
indication
that
this
particular
item
is
one
you
need
to
work
on.
Be
thankful for your strengths, and work on your weaknesses!
